Student Offers

During university, I was constantly told to “make the most of student discounts” but most lists I found were full of generic offers I never touched. So I’ve put together this curated list of student discounts, deals, and services I actually used as a psychology student in the UK.

These aren’t just nice-to-haves, they genuinely helped me save money, study more enjoyably, and make uni life that little bit easier. Whether you're looking for energy deals, discounted travel, or cheap food apps this list covers what’s actually worth your time.

I hope these help you as much as they helped me

A flexible, ethical choice; especially if you’re sharing bills and want something planet-friendly and hassle-free.

Student Beans / UNiDAYS

These aren’t just for clothes, I used them for tech deals, software, and even takeaways. Easy to check before you buy anything online, and most brands recognise one or both. I think my laptop and all of my gym gear was discounted thanks to these.

Coursera

I found Coursera surprisingly useful for adding extra strings to my psychological bow. I used it to explore some areas of psychology that we only touched on in lectures, and to build some extra skills like stats and research methods. Some courses are free, and others are worth paying for if you want certificates or CV boosters.

16–25 Railcard

If you’re heading home, taking trips, or just commuting, this cuts 1/3 off train fares. You can also link it to your Oyster card for savings on TfL. It paid for itself in two journeys and just makes travel a bit more manageable on a student budget.

Too Good To Go

An easy way to save money and reduce food waste. You get surplus food from cafes and supermarkets for a few quid — perfect for the nights you don’t feel like cooking or just want something different. I used it regularly and was surprised by the quality.
